Five Prestigious Medical Universities Are Looking for New Vice Chancellors
The Punjab Government has launched the recruitment process to appoint Vice Chancellors for five well-known public medical universities. These appointments are aimed at strengthening academic leadership, research excellence, and institutional governance across Punjab’s medical education sector.

The Ideal Candidate Profile
This recruitment is designed for senior medical professionals with strong academic, administrative, and research credentials. Applicants should possess the following qualifications:
- MBBS degree with at least Second Division or equivalent qualification.
- Level-III medical qualification such as FCPS, MD, MS, or an equivalent clinical qualification recognized by PMDC.
- Candidates holding a PhD in Basic Medical Sciences from a PMDC-recognized institution are also eligible.
Apart from educational qualifications, applicants should have an outstanding professional career and demonstrated leadership experience within recognized medical institutions.

- Minimum 10 years of service as a Professor in a PMDC-recognized medical college or university.
- At least 20 research publications published in HEC or PMDC-recognized indexed medical journals.

Important Conditions Attached to the Appointment
Selected candidates will be appointed for a fixed tenure of four years.
During the tenure, the Vice Chancellor:
- Cannot hold any other paid or unpaid administrative, academic, or honorary office outside the university.
- May perform academic and clinical duties only within the university and its affiliated teaching hospital for educational purposes.
- Will not be allowed to engage in private medical practice inside or outside university premises.
These conditions are intended to ensure complete dedication to the responsibilities of the office.
