Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications
Only candidates holding a Punjab domicile are eligible, and they must apply in their own district.
Age must be between 21 and 45 years.

Candidates with professional qualifications (B.Ed / M.Ed) are given preference.
These are fixed-term internship positions and will not be converted into regular appointments.
No TA/DA is admissible for appearing in the interview.
How STI Merit Is Calculated – The Official 100-Mark Formula
The STI merit is calculated out of 100 marks, based almost entirely on academic qualifications. Level-1: 90%+ (semester) / 80%+ (annual). Level-2: 80%+ / 70%+. Level-3: 70%+ / 60%+. Level-4: 60%+ / 50%+. Level-5: 50%+ / 40%+.
A few important points about this formula. Candidates with a Master + Bachelor combination get up to 40 + 15 = 55 marks from their degrees, while candidates with a 4-year BS degree get up to 55 marks from that single degree — so both routes are treated equally. Intermediate and Matric each add up to 15 marks. A B.Ed or M.Ed adds a flat 10 marks regardless of percentage. The interview carries 5 marks. Teaching experience does not carry fixed marks, but preference may be given to candidates having teaching experience.
Example: A candidate with a Master’s degree at 75% in the annual system (Level-2 = 36 marks), a Bachelor’s at 65% annual (Level-3 = 12 marks), Intermediate at 72% annual (Level-2 = 13.5 marks), Matric at 80% annual (Level-1 = 15 marks), plus B.Ed (10 marks), starts with 86.5 academic marks before the 5-mark interview — a very strong merit position.
